Hi, I'm Miao. I live alone in China. This year has been really rough. I lost my job and interviewed with a few companies, but didn't get any offers. The job market in China is brutal right now. Tons of graduates enter the workforce every year. There are too many people and too few jobs. After months of rejections, I've been feeling really anxious. I'm in a bad headspace, so I'm going out for a walk to clear my mind and reset. Just putting on some light makeup. Ready to head out. China takes traffic safety very seriously. You have to wear a helmet before
you can ride a bike. My stomach is growling. I found a restaurant and ordered my favorite dishes. >> The green beans were $1. The pork with cauliflower was $1.30. The whole meal came out to $3.99. It was delicious and healthy. I just want to unwind here. Being out in nature helps me let go of my anxiety. >> Della Lake is beautiful and the air is so fresh. Whenever I come here, my mood instantly lifts. I found an apricot tree loaded with fruit. I picked one to try, but it's really sour and tart. It rained a few days ago, so the ground is covered in fallen
apricots. Even though they don't taste good, they still smell really fresh and sweet. Everything is so green and lush. Combined with the birds chirping, my mood instantly brightens up. >> I think I'll rest here for a bit and read a book to feed my mind. A sanitation worker is working hard to clean up trash from the lake. We really need to take care of and protect our environment. I'm going to stroll around and take in the beautiful scenery. >> Water lily leaves are so small, but the flowers they bloom are beautiful. Seeing them makes me happy. This
beautiful scenery gives me so much strength. I need to keep pushing forward. Even the hardworking little bees are busy collecting pollen. In China, >> Many elderly people still work hard. This sanitation worker is in his 60s and is still on the job. I need to learn from them. I shouldn't be afraid of hard work. Failure is nothing. I can always start over. The sound of the birds is so soothing. I got an even better view of the lake from this little bridge. When you can see and smell the greenery, your body just instantly relaxes. This crisp, earthy scent
feels like a little piece of nature I can take with me. A mulberry tree. The fruit is ripe. I tried one and it's really sweet. >> >> This is a cherry plum tree. I tried the fruit, too, but I wasn't as lucky this time. It's bitter. Time to rest for a bit. You have to look up at the trees. They embrace anyone who looks up at them. A lake. >> >> A tree and an afternoon. It's given me a lot to think about. Time to pack up and head home. >> Stopping to buy some fresh peaches to take home. Four peaches for $1. >> >> I feel so much better now. I've cleared my
