Oh my god. Oh wow. Holy crap. You okay? You okay? Here we are, guys. in the Harong ancient town. Welcome back to the channel. We got dropped off with our bags here. It's all steps, so I got to carry them all the way to our hotel. But hey, first impressions. impressions. This town is really magical. What an atmosphere as well. Okay, I'm okay. Tons of bars, tons of eeries, and we haven't seen the best part yet, which is the river. That's a light. Wow. light. Wow. The sooner we get to our hotel, the faster we can see all these views. A shaky start to the
video. All right, guys. I thought I'd show you a little room tour. All right, guys. So, I thought I'd show you a little room tour. This is the Tenwan Hotel. We booked the honeymoon suite, I think it was called. It was around $160 per night, but to be honest, it's completely worth it. If you have a look at the room here, I looked up all the rooms I could find on Trip.com, and this one seemed to have the best view. Have a quick look up here. here. Obviously, we're in the honeymoon suite. You need to have a nice view of the bed. But, uh, yeah, this is the
money shot right here. It's all panoramic view, but you know, when it comes to views of the waterfall, it really, really doesn't get any better than this. And even a lot of the cafes and restaurants over here will have the same view, but we have it in our actual suite, which is amazing. At night time, again, this looks absolutely stunning. Have a look over here. We're facing this side of the lake as well. We're right on the corner. It's absolutely amazing. And we've got this kind of turquoise, green, blue water and mountain views. Just I'm blown away by
this place. When we first got into this hotel, we were both just like, "Wow." Uh especially at night cuz all the buildings are lit up as well. And then another part that I really liked was the view in the toilet. Let me know if you guys would uh take a number two with this view. Just look at that. I don't know if girls would enjoy that, but as a guy, come on. Okay, guys. I had so many amazing plans to show you this ancient town, but last night when I was taking the drone shot, I hit a tree. This got stuck on the opposite side of the river in a very high
up tree. Yeah, we kind of spent all of last night trying to find it. And it's not easy to get there. As you can see, it's a hike all the way around the river. But we called the fire department today and we got it. Oh, yeah. Yay. Yay. Well done. Big shout out to the Chinese firemen who uh just went out of their way with a big bamboo stick in a net and retrieved us for me. Charged a really fair price as well, but we gave them over $100. Anyways, look, they were great. They came out like really fast and got us back. So, but this place was absolutely
beautiful at night. You'll be able to see the videos I retrieved from my drone. Really romantic. drone. Really romantic. Wow. Definitely wear something lighter than this. But have a look. We just walked under this waterfall here. Actually, so beautiful. beautiful. And you can see the water is so green. Really stunning. Have you ever seen water like that? You couldn't leave the ancient town without having some ancient food. I'm not entirely sure what we got here. There's some kind of blackened sesame fork. I'm sure there's more to that. Obviously, we got
some rice. Need some carbs. This is a lovely special tofu dish. Rice tofu. And then we've got a crispy chicken sh. Look at the views. And views like this are really not hard to find in this ancient city. This was about two buildings down from our hotel. Here we are at the next ancient town. We did get the bullet train from Furang, but we missed our stop because we were playing on our phones. This is Fun Huang, ancient town, and uh we missed our stop, so we had to get a taxi. And yeah, it's a bit of a disaster. First impressions are though, it's way more
busy, way bigger, and definitely more developed. The hotel is quite tricky to find. This might save you if you're booking this hotel also because everyone on Trip.com seems to not be able to find it. it. So, we had to call them to collect us. And I'm going to record the route so you don't have to. Okay. Okay. Okay. You want to see the rim reveal? Oh wow. Oh wow. That's beautiful. Oh my god. Oh wow. Holy crap. Jeepers. That is a balcony and a half. Oh my god. Oh my god. This is like prime location. Wow. This place is packed and it just kind of shows how
good the location of our hotel is because we're just up there on the balcony and we can oversee the kind of main area here. So, what we're going to do now is look for some food and drinks. We're here in Fun Huang, ancient town. Unlike the other engine town, there's like bars and kind of clubs up here. So, there's a lot going on. It's lively as hell here. These lights popped on at around 6:00, I think. Let's take a wander. Let's go. Like all the popular locations, everyone's dressed up in traditional Chinese outfits, getting professional pictures.
professional pictures. She looks very uh traditional Chinese. What I like about this place is you're right on the water, so you can just step down. The water is here. We actually saw many people earlier take their shoes off and have a little dip. Lots of bars, lots of night life. That's what I like. Very romantic city. This is the famous crossing here. Really surprised no one's falling in if I'm being honest. Look at all the bars. They've got live music in every bar. You know, there hasn't been a location yet where we've seen this live, much like night
life, which I really like. Look at the old boats going by. It reminds me of Kaoan Road, but Chinese. We are at a restaurant here recommended by the staff at our hotel. There's so many places to eat here. We needed a recommendation. We've got lots of local dishes to try here which are actually like local to this actual town and the town that we just been to. The first one being the Pang rice tofu from the Pong ancient town. Beef dish here. It's a Chinese dish with bullfrog in it. Most importantly, we've got booze. And what is this again? It's rice wine.
Actually, really good. So, let's try this bullfrog. I'll tell you one thing, that is spicy. Rice tofu. This is actually delicious. I'm not normally a big tofu guy. Out of all the dishes, her favorite is the pickled radish. Yeah, it's really very refreshing. Very refreshing, spicy. It's It's a bit more oilier, right? But even your nose is running a bit. Yeah. One thing I'll say, guys, in these um ancient towns, the the prices are quite high for food. In the last ancient town, Fer, we had coffee and what do we have? Like three dishes. The bill was about
$50. It's pretty expensive, so we worked it out. The the coffees were $750 each. The food was good, by the way. The coffee wasn't anything special, but the food was actually good. But this is just the kind of ancient towns. The in general, China is like surprisingly cheap. Taxis are really cheap. We get taxis all over the place for like $3 here, $2 there, $5 here. Another thing that's surprisingly cheap in China is the convenience stores. the convenience stores. So, So, we're having a bro is doing his work. This bridge, it just leads right over to our
hotel. Unfortunately, it looks like we might be over that nightclub, so it's going to be loud. We'll let you know how that is. Walk under to save time. Oh, Oh, I think we're going to go there after it's a damn nightclub. Okay, good morning from Fang Huang, ancient town. ancient town. This is our view as we wake up this morning. They've got a lovely little balcony, by the way. We're going to sit out here and do some work. We just ordered a coffee from the delivery app. Driver brought it right to the door. This all starts pretty early. I could hear people
from as early as I think maybe seven or eight walking around and chatting very loudly. You see they even start these pictures really early where these girls dress up. This is the bridge here that overlooks the whole ancient city. Look at the water wheel down here. This is definitely my favorite location that we've been to in this whole China trip. It's just got loads of energy. It's got loads of culture and uh the views are just fantastic. And we're going to get some videos walking along these iconic footsteps that cross the river here. And I think we're
just going to spend some time down here. Then after that, we're going to neck a can of Strong Zero. And then we're going to see what the night life is like because it was pumping out there last night. Music playing really, really loudly. But then it all wraps up at 12:00. So, you can't go too crazy, which is kind of good because I like to party and after I've had a few drinks, I find it quite hard to stop. So, uh, not a bad thing at all. We won't be too hung over tomorrow when we're traveling. Definitely a highlight. If you come to China, don't just do
the big cities. Do these like small ancient towns as well. Oh my god. You won't see anything like this anywhere in the world. Not that I know of. Anyways, amazing opportunity here for some Assassin's Creed style parkour. Imagine running and jumping between these roofs. We're only here for two nights, but so far really really loving this. I would recommend it to everyone in my country. All right, as you can see, it's evening time. We're tonight we're just chilling on the river. This is a general atmosphere. There's some nice tranquil music playing.
There's two really nice bridges and everyone's kind of just waiting for the whole village to light up, which is going to happen in a few minutes. We're going to have a few drinks, sit on the rivered here, and then go for some food. Oh, and we're going to go to a bar as well. I don't know if I showed you this last night. You've got these kind of castle walls surrounding the village. A news reporter just actually came up to me and asked for an interview. So, I'm out there somewhere on Chinese media just talking about what, you know, what do I think of it,
where I'm from, etc. Did you catch this? Uh, you caught this fish in the river. Ah. Oh, with the net. What is your name? your name? Poing Joe. Poing Joe. I'm Travis. Nice to meet you. to meet you. Keep catching fish. Bye-bye. Bye-bye. Nice to meet you. He's going to catch me a fish. You got me a fish. Oh, he dropped. He's getting away. getting away. Sh. Sh. You caught me a fish. What's it? What should I call him? Bye-bye. Bye-bye. Nice to meet you. Chinese kids are so sweet. Are you from this town? No. No. No. No. No. No. Guju, Guju, you are here on
holiday then. Yeah. Awesome. Awesome. He's he's waiting for his mother. I make videos about traveling, about China. Jing Dal. Jing Dal. Yeah. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. Good English. Yeah. I hope you will keep practicing your English. It's crazy busy here, but it is Saturday. Um, but you can see there's a Chinese woman singing in the middle of the water. the water. Obviously, you can get these turboats going around the side. Everything is very majestic, very beautiful. Uh, yes. Yes. Yes. Apparently, this is a very popular snack that is Yes. Yes.
Yes. But this is called a meowing. Apparently, it's the best meowing in this town. Comes right from this gentleman here. This is a must try snack in Fang Huang, ancient town. 13 R&B per piece, which is less than $2. Wow, look at that. Come visit this man. He apparently he's got the best one in town. Okay, so next we're getting bamboo bobbiti. Right, look what we just got here. That looks incredible. I love fang wang. Yes, I do. That's got cream and Oh my god. We're about to try the highly recommended recommended meowing. Hope I pronounced that correctly.
It says on Google that it's a vegetable seedling cake. The things I can identify in the middle are the egg. I think this is kind of a vegetable pancake. Some sort of I think that's a meat flossing. Oh, it's so good. Could be one of the nicest things I've tried in China so far. It's so savory. Right up my street. Oh, I love it. We also got bamboo tea. Bamboo tea. Bamboo tea. really refreshing. Th This is quite nice. I prefer this over uh coconut that they have in Thailand. These are two things you should get in this ancient town. We're just sitting here
eating our uh meowing and watching these boats. Ah, it's it's it's such a great time here. time here. I'm going to let my lady enjoy her pancake now. So, Yeah. Beside uh England. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Yeah. Here we are in a Chinese bar. We looked at a lot of bars down the street. There's so many. But the reason we went here was because the live music was a bit less sad and kind of like lively. Have a look at that. He's he's pretty good. We ordered a cocktail called the Phoenix uh which is obviously we're in uh the Phoenix ancient town here. So,
this is a Phoenix cocktail. Phoenix cocktail. I mean, this is a a peacock, but I think you know what they're going for. Haven't used one of these straws since I was about 7 years old, by the way. But let's give it a go. That tastes like an alcoa pop. If you're from the west and you've ever had a WKD, that's what that tastes like. I don't know why these are here, but look at our view. But we're about to go into this club here here when in China. My Jesus. very loud in here as you can see by the lights. lights. It's quite funny because they're trying to to
shove the nightclub experience into before 12:00, which is when all the nightclubs close here. It's the last hour we're going to spend in this ancient town. And wow, look at the weather. We're basically just doing content. We're getting photos for her, videos for her, videos for me, drone shots. We got a good chance to get lots of content on this walkway uh when it wasn't too busy cuz last night was just crazy. And now we're going to get the bullet train back to Chang Sha where we just have a few hours and then we got to fly home. This place has just
been amazing, you know, uh the food, the atmosphere. Massively recommend it. I'm leaving uh China with a smile on my face. We are on the bullet train. If you didn't know, China has the fastest bullet trains in the world. This is a high-speed G train, it's called. And we're going all the way back to Chang Sha. we where we're getting our flight back to Bangkok. It's around 5 and 1/2 hours drive. The bullet train cuts it down to a nice clean 2 hours. We booked a business class on the train around $50 uh per person, so $100 in total. It's not kind of
anywhere like a business class you'd get on a plane or anything. However, it is very comfortable. No plugs, which I thought was a bit disappointing cuz I know there's plugs in first class. No complimentary snacks either. Actually, a lot of this journey is underground. It's under tunnels. You don't get a lot of great views. We don't have a window here either. This is the very last location on the trip. Chang. We're flying out of here in a few hours. We tried to get as close as we could down to here to see more even more LED buildings. more LED buildings.
But um we got up for a station. So this is about as close as we can get. This is the end of the vlog. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Uh we'll definitely come back here next time. And also I hope if you're considering China or you've got preconceived notions about China, I really hope that you this video would help change your mind or the last series of videos would help change your mind about visiting China because China itself is not the government. You know, people here are so friendly. There's still not a lot of foreigners visiting a lot of these major
major cities. There's so much to explore, places that you've never seen before, foods that you've never tried before. It has so much to offer in every front. So, give China a chance. Uh I really love it. And same as any country, just respect the locals, play by the rules, and uh you'll have an amazing experience here. So, like, comment, subscribe, guys. Please subscribe. I spent a lot of money on this trip. this trip. It was a good experience. But uh yeah, make sure to subscribe and uh there's lots more coming, baby.
