Tiny Apartment Makeover in China for Just $12

What this video shows

Joe and Mei, a couple who run the channel CHINA LIFE Joe & Mei, spend the day resetting their small apartment, which they describe as cluttered and messy. Their plan has three parts: sort out items they no longer need, deep-clean the dirty ones, and replace fixtures that have become old and worn out. The replacement items were bought online in a single batch for a stated total of $12, and the couple stresses that nothing was fancy — the goal was simply to make a small space more comfortable to live in. The footage follows the makeover from the initial clear-out through to the finished result.

What stands out

The entire refresh is framed around a single $12 online order, which suggests how far a small amount of money can stretch when the purchases are practical rather than decorative. The couple's starting point is not a design upgrade but worn-out fixtures and accumulated clutter, so the work is closer to maintenance than to decorating. Buying the parts online in one batch, rather than sourcing them locally, is treated as unremarkable. The stated aim is comfort in a small space, not appearance.
