4 Day Trip on China’s First-Class Capsule Bullet Train — Shanghai to Beijing

Looks like platform 1 is directly connected to the lounge. Okay, this is cool. Here is the train. This is the newest train, the Fuxing train; it’s the intelligent train. It’s the world's fastest train currently in operation, at 350 km/h. Looks like a futuristic pencil. Business class is in car 1. My seat is in car 1, seat 6F. Wow, that’s a lot. There are

19 business class seats. This is my seat, seat 6F. It really is like your very own pod. This is reminiscent of first class on an airplane. The train has started moving. We head off. Goodbye, Shanghai. We are currently cruising slowly. The older industrial and residential core of Shanghai. Business class passengers get lots of free stuff. I got tea. We cruise at a speed of 152 km/h. I believe this area uses slow train rails, so it can’t go as fast as it normally can. Let’s take a look at the amenities. Slippers. There’s just enough space to fit your

shoes. A purple pillow. A purple blanket. It even has a cut so it can sit on your shoulders. The people of China really like the color purple. Inside this box were earplugs, an eye mask, and earphones. On the side of the chair is the reading light, USB outlets, and an audio jack. Power outlets. A mirror for some reason. On the side table are snacks. and a napkin. Water There’s a wireless charging station. The design is really Chinese, with all the decorations and stuff. It's these types of head rests. There’s also a sliding door to get some privacy.

The armrest reacts when the table is activated. Pretty good stuff. I found a cool function. You can trap your bags or your kids beside you. It’s like those bikes with sidecars on them. Probably the most awaited function of them all. Yes, it flattens out. Folks. This is awesome. There’s even a monitor. You can check the seat formation, recline function, seat functions, and more. I heard there was Wi-Fi onboard, but I don’t see it. Something has started. What is this ad? Woo The car is starting to smell good. I think it's time for lunch. The options

were beef or chicken. I got beef. It’s like a school meal. Soup. Rice. Some stir-fried stuff. A piece of corn. Vegetables and beef. You can actually buy hot meals in the dining car, but it’s complimentary in the business class seats. Why does the rice actually taste like my Chinese friend's kitchen? So that’s what it was. It was rice. When you eat this enough, you realize it’s both the same at the end of the day. Train moving so fast we made it to the Empire State Building. It's 317km/h now. food! The train is now moving near max speed. This flaky stuff is good. Nanjing Station. For a city known for its ancient roots, it looks anything but ancient. The train is now heading out of Nanjing. Next stop is Jinanxi Station. Let’s go for a train tour. This is the bathroom. Pretty clean. Sink as well. There’s even a water fountain. ??? A sitting toilet. On a high-tech train? This is the first-class seat. 2-2 configuration. First class is actually not first class in China. These are the 2nd-class seats. A 2-3 configuration. Premium First Class. There is a cafe car. You can buy Starbucks, and hot meals. Snacks as well. Hmmm. Seems familiar. Fruits. Let’s return to the seats. It was 18 CNY. You can actually order McDonald's to your seat on long journey trains using the 12306 station delivery system. But it isn't working. How did they build this rail line in 3 years. It's an incredible feat. We are now zooming past the suburbs at near maximum speeds. Very fast boy. The fastest I've ever travelled on land. The lunch box was really filling. Can I get some sleep? It’s known for being the home of Mount Tai, one of the Three Great Mountains of China. It’s a very famous mountain that you can kinda see today. We are approaching… Jinan Station. You can’t smoke on the train, so smokers get off

at these station stops. I guess you can talk freely on these trains. Because the train itself is quiet, the people sound louder than they already are. We just passed the Yellow River. Can we redo it? I didn’t get the complete crossing on film. I thought it was propaganda, but China really is hazy. The Mongolian yellow sand, probably. It smells so good in the car right now. Is the trolley cart here? Nope. Someone must’ve opened a delivery meal. Is the weather always like this? Because it’s kind of depressing right now:( We will be arriving at

Beijing South Station soon. The window is big, but it’s actually shared between 2 people. If one person wanted to sleep but the other wanted to check out the scenery, it’s not going to be fun. Sunworld Hotel. It was like 10,000 JPY or $70 USD. Pretty nice. I don’t even know if I want to go outside tomorrow. Maybe I’ll take a day off. Just eating around, that might be nice. Zhajiangmian 69th. Nice. Apparently, it’s a Michelin-recommended place. You order through Alipay as usual. This is the Zhajiangmian. It was 38 CNY. ¥840 / $5.50. 13 Dish Combinations. Lots and lots of ingredients. There are instructions on the wall. You first add the oil. Then the paste. From the looks of it, Zhajiangmian is basically Chinese Bolognese Pasta + vegetables. And then in go the vegetables. Dang this looks good. What vegetable is this? My AI assistant suggested adding all the vegetables. Okay then. It’s basically a salad at this point.

This pork is kinda good. Apparently, you could’ve gotten free refills of noodles and soy bean paste. If you want to die from obesity, go ahead. Thanks for the food! Speaking of obesity, here is my dessert. Sesame seeds ice cream. There are people dressed up as ancient people, probably because were close to the Palace. Maybe I’ll walk around for a bit. Good morning. Today I’m heading to the Great Wall of China. There are several methods of heading to the Great Wall of China from Beijing. I'm heading to the Badaling Great Wall. It is the most accessible Great walls. We made it safely to Beijing North Station. That is a lot of people. There is a bullet train to the Great wall. Crazy stuff. We now ride this high-speed train. My seat is in car 2. There are 16 cars. That’s a lot of walking confirmed. It’s about a 30-minute ride. I made it. The interior is similar to a Japanese bullet train. I will eat

my onigiri. Why do I feel like these seats are cramped? Great mayo shrimp onigiri. Btw, I bought all the tickets on trip.com. Even the Great Wall tickets. The scenery is getting mountainous. Badaling Great Wall Station. We made it. It is the deepest high-speed railway station in the world, with the platforms sitting roughly 102 meters (335 feet) below the surface. You thought it was over, but there are more elevators. -4°C. Kind of cold out. I guess you need to follow the walking route. 450m to go. There’s even a food court. Is this how the bricks of

the wall were carried? There’s a KFC and stuff around here. And a KFC look-alike. Wow. It’s the Great Wall of China. Wow!! You do need tickets to enter by the way. There is a north side and a south side, and I was recommended to go to the south side. It’s apparently for beginners. It’s so misty I can directly stare into the sun. Hey my first few steps on the Great Wall of China. The 3rd world wonder I've visited. The Great Wall of China is a massive architectural feat stretching over 13,000 miles (21,000 km). The wall is higher on one side. This

side is probably where the enemies invaded from. What kind of enemy attacks in the middle of nowhere? We made it to the third tower of the south side. To think this route continues for 21,000 km. Wow. 21,000 km? That’s a lot of kilometers; how long did it take to build this? It’s getting cold here. The walls around this area were built during the Ming Dynasty. The interior filling between the two outer stone walls is made of rammed earth, gravel, and lime mortar. While the foundation is built from granite blocks. So steep stairs. And... We did it. We

made it to the end of the wall. NEVERMIND. I think I should head to the north side now. I don't even know how long the walk is going to take. The descent is much more dangerous. Just look at how steep these stairs are. Glad it isn’t raining. I would have died 3 times. Just how far is the north side? Okay… That’s a long route. We made it back to the entrance. Let’s try to hike the north side, which apparently takes 2 to 3 hours round-trip. Not sure if I can do the whole thing, but I’ll try my best. From what I can see, there are more people on
